As reported by USA Today, First Lady Michelle Obama is planning a tea party to celebrate Mothers Day. The guests list includes Susan and Anne Eisenhower (Grand daughters of President Eisenhower), Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter, Many mothers and spouses of the U.S. Military, and all of the girls who are taking part in the White House mentoring program. Perhaps Michelle's daughters Malia and Sasha along with their Grandmother Marian Robinson will attend.
Michelle would know all about tea parties, as in 2009 she did have tea with the Queen of England. That same year she had a tea honoring 130 military women and veterans at the White House. Do you know your tea party etiquette? Take small bites of your sandwich, never ever gobble it down in one or two bites. When seated at the table never bring the tea cup and the saucer to your mouth only raise the tea cup itself, and do not gulp your tea, take small sips. If you happen to be standing while having your tea at a tea party always hold the saucer in your left hand and raise the tea cup with your right to your lips. If there were ever one event I would like to attend at the White House, I believe it would have to be a tea party. I have had a love of them since I were a small child. If you and your little girl would like to learn tea party etiquette fit to be seated beside Michelle Obama take a look at these tea party rules. Have a wonderful Mothers Day.
